FAQ

West Street Dog

Do I need a dog to come to the bar?

No! Dogs are not required to come to West Street Dog. The front bar is open to all humans and leashed pups, while the off-leash dog park/bar is open to any 21+ humans. Even if you don’t have a pup of your own, you are welcome to come grab a drink and love on all our furry guests!

What do I need to do before I come to the off-leash park?

Please download our app (West St. Dog) to get started! Enter your info and upload vaccine records or email them to us. You can purchase a daily or monthly membership through the app before or when you arrive. Everyone will need to sign our general services agreement, which can also be found on the app! When you arrive, we will do a quick meet and greet with your dog to make sure they are suited for the off-leash area. If any dog shows aggression, excessive barking, mounting, or extreme fear, you will be asked to remove them. If your dog has never been in a group of dogs before, we would suggest signing them up for daycare first, so we are able to do a longer temperament test before using the off-leash bar area.

Is there a capacity for the off-leash park?

Yes, we will limit the number of dogs in the park. The maximum number will depend on the size of the dogs and their level of play. During busier times, we may ask you to wait with your pup on leash at the front bar until someone exits the park.

Are toys allowed in the off-leash park?

We want the park to be a fun place for all dogs, so we will keep the off-leash area toy free.

Will the daycare dogs be using the off-leash park at the same time as bar customers?

No. The daycare dogs will use the space during the day on weekdays, then be moved at the end of the day to a smaller daycare room so the staff can clean and set up for the bar and park to open. Daycare customers are welcome to pick their dog up from daycare and enter the off leash/bar area during park hours, as long as they are park members!

Are there any breed restrictions?

There are no breed restrictions at West Street! All dogs who are fixed if over 6 months of age and who meet the vaccination and temperament requirements are welcome.

Is there a small dog park?

We do have a small dog play area available for use on Saturday and Sundays only. This will be used by our staff during weekday daycare but will be available on weekends only for small dogs who are members of the off leash dog park. Please ask a staff member if you’d like to use it!

Can kids come?

The front bar is open to children accompanied by an adult; however, the off-leash park is only open to humans 21+. Your child can see to the off-leash area from the front bar.

What are the daycare and boarding requirements?

All dogs must pass a temperament test to participate in daycare. You can sign your pup up for a temperament test with a half day or full day of daycare on our app. All dogs over 6 months of age must be spayed or neutered, and all dogs must be up to date on their Rabies, Distemper/Parvo, and 6-month Bordetella vaccines. Reservations are required for daycare as we will have a limit on how many dogs can be in the space.

Spay/neuter?

If your dog is under 6 months old, they do not have to be spayed or neutered. Once they hit 6 months, they must be fixed and healed before coming back to the off-leash area.

What are the vaccine requirements?

For daycare and dog park usage, all dogs must be up to date on their Rabies, Distemper/Parvo, and 6-month Bordetella vaccines. If your pup is just staying in the front bar, our on-leash area, you don’t need to provide proof of vaccines.

Can I pick my dog up from daycare and then use the off-leash park?

Yes! Once you checkout from daycare, you and your pup are welcome to enjoy the off-leash dog park, which opens at 4PM on weeknights. Please keep in mind the fee for daycare and to use the dog park are separate charges.

Why do you require the Bordetella vaccine to be given every 6 months?

The Bordetella vaccine protects dogs from canine cough. Some vets will administer it every 6 months, some every year. Since we have a lot of dogs coming and going, we require it to be given every 6 months to make sure all dogs are best protected from the airborne virus. We do sell an intranasal Bordetella vaccine you can administer yourself. For information, shoot us an email or ask an employee when you arrive.

Are you hiring?

We are always accepting resumes, so if you are interested in applying, please email a copy of your resume and fill out an application from our website.

Do you serve food?

We have small packaged snacks we sell. We offer a full bar. You are welcome to bring in food but please do not feed any of it to the dogs, even your own.

Do I have to watch my dog in the off-leash park?

Yes! Each owner is responsible for their own dogs and their actions. Owners must make sure dogs are up to date with vaccinations, must pick up their poop, and must monitor their dog to make sure they are on their best behavior. If your dog is behaving inappropriately, a park attendant may ask you to remove them to the leash-only front bar for a break. Park attendants will be available to clean the turf and re-fill water buckets. We ask that customers do not leave their dog unattended in the off-leash park at anytime. There is bar and bathroom access in the off leash park area for your convenience! If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us.

Can I bring treats into the dog park?

We ask that no treats be brought into the off-leash park. Feeding any of the dogs (including your own) is prohibited. We want to be considerate of all dogs who love to play but may be possessive of food or have food allergies. You can bring food for yourself, but please make sure you do not feed any of the dogs and completely dispose of it when finished.

Is there space that can be rented out for private parties at West Street Dog?

Yes! We will be offering the option to rent out the dog park area for special occasions. Please email us to set this up.

Do you have a dog groomer?

We currently do not offer full service grooming, however our staff can perform basic and deluxe baths, as well as nail trims/grinds, ear cleaning, and anal gland expression. Prices for baths vary depending on the size of the dog and length of coat.

Do you board cats?

Yes! We have spacious cat condos for our feline friends. Cats must be up to date on their FVRCP and Rabies vaccines. All male cats must be neutered over 6 months of age. The cat area is separate from our dog area, so they have a nice quiet place to rest near our lobby. Come by and see during lobby hours.
